What we collect

When you sign in we receive your email address and display name from our identity provider (signin.ounie.com). When you extract a document we store a record of that run: what the source was (the URL, or the filename you uploaded), the format you asked for, the extracted text itself, the metadata we derived from it (title, author, page count, word count, language), and the credit reservation and settlement.

What we don't collect

We don't track you across the web. There are no third-party analytics scripts, no advertising pixels and no session replay. We don't sell, share or resell anything you send us, and nothing you extract is used to train any model.

Files you upload

Uploaded source files are parsed in memory and never persisted. Once a document has been read, the bytes you sent are gone; what remains is the extracted text.

Extracted text, and how long we keep it

The extracted text is stored so you can read it again without paying twice. Short documents live in the database; longer ones are written to private object storage under a key only your account can reach — never a public URL, and never a shared link. A daily sweep deletes those stored bodies 30 days after the extraction, leaving only the metadata (title, page count, what it cost). You can request earlier deletion at any time.

What we send to third parties, and what they see

Rendering a web page and reading an image are done by service providers on our behalf. A page URL is sent to a rendering service; an image is sent to a vision model to be transcribed; a document going to format: "json" is sent, as text, to a language model along with the schema you supplied. In every case they receive the content only — never your name, your email or your Ounie identity. We do not send them anything you did not ask us to extract.

Where data lives

Application data (extraction records, credit ledger entries) is stored in a Neon Postgres database hosted in the US. Overflow document bodies live in the Ounie S3 bucket, also in the US, under a private prefix.

Payments

Credit purchases happen on ounie.com, where Stripe processes payment. This product never sees your card number; it only reads and debits your Ounie credit wallet. x402 calls are settled in USDC on-chain and are pseudonymous — we record the paying wallet address and transaction hash, nothing more. Stripe's privacy policy lives at stripe.com/privacy.

Deletion

To delete your account or download your data, open a privacy ticket. We respond within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30.
