Terms of service

What this is
Extractor ("we", "us") converts a document you supply — a web page, a file you upload, or a file at a URL you give us — into text, at your direction. You ("you", "the customer") pay per document at the rates published on our pricing page. We are an independent Ounie product.
Billing
There is no subscription. Extractions are billed in Ounie credits (1 credit = 1¢) from your shared Ounie wallet, at the per-document rate, with long documents billed per 50-page block. The price is reserved before the work and settled on what the document actually turned out to be; the unused remainder refunds automatically. A document with no extractable text is refunded in full and never settled. Credits are purchased and managed on ounie.com; your extraction history remains accessible regardless of your credit balance. Keyless x402 calls are paid per call in USDC — payment is verified before the work and settled only on delivery, and a settled payment is final.
What you may send us
You may only send documents you have the right to access and process. You are responsible for having that right, including where a source is behind someone's terms of use, a paywall, or a login. You will not use the service to circumvent access controls, to process material you are not permitted to process, or to attempt endpoints we haven't documented, bypass rate limits, or resell raw access to the service.
Your content
As between you and us, you own the documents you send and the text we return, and you may use that text commercially. We claim no rights over either and do not use them to train models. Uploaded files are parsed in memory and never persisted; extracted text is retained per our privacy policy.
Accuracy
Extraction is a best-effort mechanical process. Layout, tables and reading order in complex documents can be imperfect; OCR of an image can misread characters; structured JSON reflects only what the document states and leaves anything unstated null. Output is provided as-is — check it before you rely on it for anything consequential.
What we do not do
Audio and video are outside this service. Such requests are refused with an error pointing at the appropriate tool, and are never charged.
Availability
Parts of the pipeline depend on third-party providers for page rendering and model inference, which change over time and may reject individual jobs under their own policies. A rejected or failed job refunds automatically, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted availability.
No warranty
The service is provided as-is, without warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Refunds
Failed and empty extractions refund automatically (the credit reservation is reversed). For anything else, open a support ticket.
Liability
Our liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any loss arising from your use of extracted text.
Termination
Either party can terminate at any time. You retain access to extractions you've already paid for, subject to the retention window in our privacy policy, and you can export them before closing your account. We may suspend accounts for material violations of these terms with notice.
